About Peter
This is a photo of myself taken at the age of 15 in the Lake District. I've had a camera in my hands for many years now, taking after my father who also was a professional photographer.
I hail from Halifax in West Yorkshire and while growing up, we used to spend our summers camping in the Lakes as a family. The main photo at the top of the page is of Coniston Water, which became a second home to me as a child and I continue to spend as much time there as I can.
I moved to Leeds after getting married where we raised a family of our own. We continue to enjoy many trips up to the Lake District.
My love for the Lakes has inspired me in many of ways, including naming my Wedding Photography packages after them.
Shortly after moving to Leeds I realised that my passion for photography was turning into much more than a hobby. After photographing several friends’ weddings it became obvious that this was something I wanted to pursue as a career.
Twenty five years on and with a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and tears I am proud to say that I have been able to nurture my passion into a thriving business.
After becoming established I set about building my own home studio premises where I can hold professional and family portrait sessions. This is also used for client consultations and is a comfy, informal setting where we can sit, have a brew and discuss your requirements.
I also have on hand a large range of sample album and products for clients to browse through at their leisure.
My 19-year old lad Frazer looks to be following in the old man's footsteps and is currently studying photography at Carlisle University.
In the holidays he spends a lot of his time shadowing me at weddings. I'm proud to say that he's getting pretty good and I don't think it will be long before he's regularly showing me a thing or two.
He also has a passion for the Lake District and Scottish Highlands, where we can frequently be found taking photos of the stunning scenery.
